Portrait Analysis
- The subjects in the portrait seem to be sad/ and confused to me. Their eyes, their body language.
- They seem to be worried, not sure what is going on?
- They are very grungy and dirty, so either there was some sort of war, or they are very poor.
- The subjects are children so they probably don't work, if they did it would be farm work I'd guess.
- How are you? Is everything ok?
- wanted you to question what is going on in their life?
- what were you thinking in this photograph??

What makes a good photograph
This image is a great example of close to a perfect photograph. You have shape, in the center, colors around that make the object pop. There are clean lines, texture and balance.

Learning To See
When looking at the image I selected, see very natural and bright light as the photograph is taken outside. You have the natural shading of the side of the house as the sun is more focused in the center closer to the clothing. There are many shapes and prints in the image, you have the tall green grass, the yellow of the grass beads into the yellow sheet hanging in the wind. The white and blue strips stand out against the blue-sky background. When looking at this photograph it seems to have been taken from a far so that everything gets into the picture. The frame of the image is darker and goes from one side to the lower part of the image, than the center which allows your eyes to focus on the bright colors blowing in the wind. Not sure what the images was taken with, but this image was taken in Provincetown in 1976 by Joel Meyerowitz. From what I see it looks like it was taken from someone standing further away maybe zooming in and capturing the natural sunlight in the wind. The mood of this image gives that relaxing summer day with the wind blowing, maybe drinking a glass of lemonade while the laundry is drying. The image gives off a vibe of a family home maybe that maybe didn’t have a washer and dryers. I would describe this photo as warm and happy, like those great summer days when its scorching hot outside and a breeze comes along and cools you off.
